Enchanted Holidays / Welcome to Madonna di Campiglio
The pearl of the Dolomites
The exclusive, little known ski resort with an impressive pedigree, that, until recent years has been kept a closely guarded Italian secret.
Located deep amongst the Italian Brenta Dolomite peaks, Madonna di Campiglio has been Italy’s premier ski resort, attracting the elite of Europe since the mid 19th century.
Madonna di Campiglio regularly played host to Emperor Franz Josef with his young and beautiful wife, Elisabeta, known as Sisi. They even had their own hunting lodge, overlooking the village, where they would entertain heads of state from all over Europe and beyond.
“A total joy. Great resort, snow, ski school, hotel, food. Kids in total heaven.”
Earlier still, it was a favoured stopover of the holy Roman Emperor, Charlemagne, on his long and arduous trips to Rome to attend audiences with the Pope.
More recently, Madonna di Campiglio regularly welcomed the Ferrari F1 and Ducati Lenovo teams with Michael Schumaker, and Kimi Raikkonen amongst many others, declaring it their favourite ski resort.
Madonna di Campiglio has a reputation for its long winter seasons, and great snow conditions. It is also renowned as a ski in and out resort, known throughout the Dolomites for its immaculately prepared pistes and rapid lift systems.
Come and rub shoulders with stars of stage and screen in Italy’s premier ski resort.
“We had the most terrific week! It was every bit as good as last year, in fact, even better.”
